Not just any old beach hut

Newbury woman Julia Lee-Delisle has been crowned the 'Owner of Britain's best beach hut' by TL Risk Solutions

A NEWBURY woman is the proud winner of a national ‘Best Presented Beach Hut' competition.

Mother-of-two Julia Lee-Delisle, of Kingsbridge Road, has also been crowned ‘Owner of Britain's best beach hut' in the contest run by insurers TL Risk Solutions.

Mrs Lee-Delisle, aged 42, who runs her own business selling sterling silver jewellery and also teaches speech and drama part time at Thorngrove School in Highclere, said: “It means so much to me as I've put so much effort into my hut over the years. I just love it - it's right on the wonderful sandy beach at West Wittering and gets compliments from admirers daily.

“With a twist of shabby chic, mixing old with new, everything in my hut is red or white, or a bit of both. This hut has been, and is, my sanity. “It's a truly wonderful place to have and to share with family, friends and passers-by.”

Mrs Lee Delisle is in good company - West Wittering in West Sussex is also home to Rolling Stone Keith Richards' beach hut.
