Aldermaston nursery and pre-school scores ‘Good’ Ofsted result
Cedars Day Nursery and Pre-School has received a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating after its most recent inspection in March.
The inspector’s report noted: “The children are happy and settled.
“All children benefit from positive relationships with the kind and supportive staff.”
It also read: “The new manager has a good understanding of her roles and responsibilities.
“This includes her roles as the designated safeguarding lead and as the special educational needs coordinator.”
Responding to the news, nursery manager, Jess Hamments, said: “I am so pleased with the grading that Ofsted has given us.
“It truly reflects the hard work this team puts in every day, and we are excited to continue to see Cedars flourish.”
Manager director, Alec Hodson, added: “We are thrilled to have been graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted, the first grading for this early years setting.
“Cedars was previously a primary school and held a special place in the local area.
“We are delighted to have continued its legacy serving the community and nurturing the next generation.”
To improve further, the inspector’s report added the school could “build on staff's skills to enhance the interactions and discussions with children to extend the support for their communication and language development.”
It could also advised “extend[ing] staff's awareness of supporting children's understanding of their own and others' safety.”
The school opened in May 2022 and currently enrolls 33 children aged one to four.
