Nursery group donates over £600 for Thatcham charity

A nursery group has donated £654 to special needs charity Swings & Smiles.

The Tigers Day Nurseries in Thatcham, Theale and Swindon, along with the Tigers Training Centre, presented a cheque on Friday.

The money was raised from a raffle that the nurseries and training centre held at their annual awards ceremony at Donnington Valley Hotel.

Operations manager Jane Tubb said Thatcham-based Swings & Smiles was “delighted to receive a generous cheque”.

She said: “The nurseries had a sit down dinner and a disco before the awards presentation where staff were recognised by their colleagues, the management team and the families from the settings for their amazing achievements over the past year.

“The raffle, which included prizes such as a designer handbag, £250 and a beauty hamper, raised the amazing sum of £654 all of which was passed onto this extremely worthy charity.”
