NWN's Geraldine Gardner will be among ranks in London's Moonwalk
Newbury salon Secrets running pamper fundraising day today (Sun) for the cause
ON May 16 more than 15,000 people will be taking part in the 26.2-mile Moonwalk through London, raising money for breast cancer research and support organisations. Geraldine Gardner, from the Newbury Weekly News, will be among them, along with her book group – Isobel Kenyon, Katie Shaw, Samantha Scott, Jane Mitchell and Helen Sheehan – in memory of one of their group, Sue Sykes, and of many family and friends who have been affected by cancer in some way. Geraldine is going to attempt a Newbury selfie on the night, so if you are taking part in the event and want to be included, email your group details, starting zone and contact telephone number to her at geraldine.gardner@newburynews.co.uk. As part of the Moonwalk preparations, Secrets nail and beauty salon in Market Street is holding a charity day this Sunday, May 10 from 11am to 4pm. Treatments will be available on the day for just £10, including mini back massages, reflexology, mini facials, files and re-varnishes. All treatments are 15 minutes.
