Offenders in Newbury given ‘community resolutions’ for drug and shoplifting offences today




THE neighbourhood police team has targeted shoplifters in Newbury today, Saturday.

Thames Valley Police said in a statement: “Newbury Neighbourhood Team have been carrying out an operation today targeting shoplifters in the town centre and at the retail park.

“‘Community resolutions’ were issued to three people for theft.

“The suspects were also banned from certain retail stores and they will have to attend a re-education course which they will also have to pay for.”

In addition, one person was made subject to a community resolution for a drug-related offence.

The statement added that the culprit will have to pay to attend a ‘drug diversion course.’
