Officers on patrol in Theale seize knives found in parked car

Knives were seized from a car parked in Theale.

Thames Valley Police said its neighbourhood team were patrolling in the village in the evening of Tuesday, September 24.

They came across a car parked near Hanger Lane, and decided to check on it.

The officers said the driver was initially obstructive, so they detained them and searched the vehicle using Section 1 powers of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.

This resulted in them finding at least four knives in the car, which they seized.

As a result, the driver was arrested for four counts of possessing an offensive weapon and driving without insurance.

The car was seized.
