Official Proclamation of King Charles III to be read in Thatcham on Sunday




The Mayor of Thatcham will read the historic proclamation.

Thatcham Town Council has announced that the reading of the Official Proclamation of His Majesty King Charles III will take place on Broadway Green at 5pm.

The public are invited to join the Mayor of Thatcham Councillor Jeff Brooks at this historic event.

Charles III officially became monarch in historic ceremonies in St James's Park and the Royal Exchange in London on Saturday.

As the trumpets sounded at St James Palace, Thatcham Town Council raised its Union Flag to full mast in celebration of the newly proclaimed King, King Charles III.

The reading of the Official Proclamation will also take place in Newbury and Hungerford on Sunday.

A Book of Condolence is available at the Thatcham Town Council offices in Brownsfield Road between 9am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, and floral tributes may be laid in the Community Garden in front of the Town Council office.
