National Highways have reported that approximately 500 litres of diesel have been spilled on the carriageway after a heavy goods vehicle ruptured its fuel tank.

National Highways have told drivers to follow the hollow square signs that signal the diversion route.

The route sees drivers come off at junction 12, join the A4, then the A339 before merging onto the A34 and re-joining the M4 westbound at junction 13.

The A34 northbound between Wash Water and Speen is also suffering delays, with the AA reporting that drivers are expected to be delayed for 16 minutes.
