Old Stryker headquarters on Hambridge Road demolished

The former Stryker headquarters on Hambridge Road were demolished last week.
Stryker, the global leaders in medical technology that provides specialist equipment to healthcare professionals across the world, had occupied the site for 25 years before moving across the road to a new £13.2m building in 2011.
The former headquarters, which have stood empty since then, had formerly been the offices of appliance repair company, Zanussi.
Pictures of the demolition were taken by Peter Cooke, who worked in the building before setting up his video production business.
He said: “It was certainly strange to see a place I worked in reduced to rubble, but I suppose times have moved on. I felt compelled to go back on Sunday to take a few photos of what it looks like now.”
Stryker’s distinctive new headquarters were shortlisted in the value and project of the year categories at the Constructing Excellence Awards in 2012.
