Ollie the collie has X Factor to impress new owner

Appeal for new home after forlorn two year wait

Ollie the collie with the X-Factor, is seeking a sofa to crash out on, as the new series of the ITV television series is set to hit screens later this month.

With singer, Olly Murs, named as one half of this year’s presenting duo for the new series, Dogs Trust Newbury is hoping that his namesake - Ollie the collie, can finally get his big break in a loving new home.

Three-year-old Ollie has been at the rehoming centre for two years, but has missed out on finding the perfect home and staff hope that Ollie can show a prospective new owner that he has what it takes to make it as a loving family pet.

Whilst he loves to play, Ollie is no troublemaker and new owners will soon be wrapped up in his charms and Nicki Barrow, Dogs Trust Newbury rehoming centre manager said:

“Ollie is a fantastic boy who definitely has the ‘Rex Factor’ in our eyes! Just like his human counterpart, he’s a cheeky, sociable boy who loves to be the centre of attention! Like any star, he will need to continue his training and will also need space to relax and enjoy some and down time too.”

“After so long here, we are desperate to find Ollie’s perfect match and whilst there won’t be any auditions to face, Ollie will need to be visited a few times by potential owners to build up a bond before he embarks on the journey to his new home.”

If you think you could give Ollie a new home after he has pined for two years contact Dogs Trust Newbury on 0300 303 0292 or pop into the rehoming centre at Plumb’s Farm, Hamstead Marshall, Newbury, Berks, RG20 0HR.

Dogs Trust is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity and cares for nearly 17,000 stray and abandoned dogs each year through its network of 20 Rehoming Centres across the UK and one in Dublin.
