Olympian visits Park House to inspire a new generation

OLYMPIC hockey star Alex Danson provided new year 7 Park House students with a memorable first day at school as she spoke about her career.
Danson, who brought along the bronze medal she won at the London 2012 games, participated in assembly before visiting each tutor group to answer questions and talk about her Olympic successes.
Park House headteacher Derek Peaple said: “This is what the Olympic legacy of ‘inspiring a generation’ really means in practice.”
Pupil Milly Hoggard said: “After watching the Olympics it was a great experience to meet Alex and hear about all she has achieved.
“I was able to relate this to where I am now and where I want to be in years ahead. She was really motivating and a great inspiration to us all.’
Danson, who is widely regarded as one of the world greatest players, said: “I had a fantastic morning at Park House welcoming the new Year 7 at this fantastic school.”
