One lane now open on A34 southbound after crash which left three injured

The carriageway was closed between the junctions for Botley and the Milton Interchange, after a lorry collided with a stationary broken down coach, which was providing a rail replacement service from Oxford to Didcot and had 50 passengers on board.
The incident occurred at around 12.30am. One lane of the southbound carriageway was opened just before 1pm. The second lane is not expected to reopen until at least 2pm.
One person suffered serious injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening, and was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, along with two others. Their next of kin have been informed.
The remaining passengers, who did not require hospital treatment, were transported to Abingdon Police Station.
The southbound carriageway remains closed while the vehicles are recovered and Thames Valley Police and other authorities conduct investigations at the scene.
Diversions are in place via the A420, A338 to Wantage, A417 eastbound and A4130 northbound via Milton hill. Drivers are advised to follow the signs with a black triangle in a yellow box.
Traffic heading to Southampton is encouraged to stay on the M40 and use the M25 and M3.
