One man and his guitar

Acoustics is my thing says Newbury singer/songwriter

AN up-and-coming Newbury musician is looking to record more of his songs this year, after supporting Dodgy on their recent gig at Arlington Arts.

Ed Aldred, aged 26, who grew up locally defines himself as an acoustic folk musician with a laidback, mellow feel.

He draws a lot of influence from artists such as Neil Young, Mason Jennings, Bob Dylan, Willy Mason, Jack Johnson and Jurassic 5.

Ed, who went to Parsons Down Junior School, Thatcham, and Park House School, Newbury, has had a love affair with the guitar from many years having started playing aged just 14. See Thursday's Newbury Weekly News for Tanya Haji's interview with Ed.
