A primary school in Thatcham has unveiled a new pavilion at its "fantastic" summer fete held at the weekend.

Spurcroft Primary School hosted its Jubilee-themed event, which had live music, a bouncy castle, circus activities and even a corgi hunt.

Mayor of Thatcham Jeff Brooks and head teacher Kate Flowerdrew officially opened the "outdoor classroom" at the fete on Saturday (July 16).

The funds raised for the new facility came from previous events organised by PTA, Friends of Spurcroft, including "innovative" ideas during the pandemic.

This event, and upcoming events, will now go towards a new library for the school.
