She said: “It feels wonderful to have my hard work recognised.

“It is incredibly important to me that my team feel supported to help residents lead fulfilling lives.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the whole team for all of their hard work in making Winchcombe Place a wonderful place to work, and for residents to call home.”

Her achievement is attributed to her efforts in nurturing close-knit relationships with both her team members and residents, helping to create a friendly and welcoming environment.

Regional director at Care UK, Angela Zuraw, added: “Being recognised for ‘outstanding leadership’ is a true testament to Shirley’s hard work and commitment.

“The award recognises leaders who go the extra mile and Shirley has certainly proven to us all what it means to be a dedicated and caring leader.”

The RCS Stars Awards acknowledge the highest standards of care and service across more than 150 Care UK homes nationwide.
