Two vehicles were scratched in the early hours of Monday, August 29, with one vehicle being damaged again on the following night.

And so the following evening, Kingsbridge Motor Sales owner Jay Wild and employee Zach Greening-Steer camped out in the premises after the dealership had two cars damaged over the two previous nights.

One Kingsbridge Road resident who had their car vandalised, said they estimated the total damage caused in the spree to be equal to £60,000.

Cars on Salcombe Road, Valley Road and Fifth Road were also damaged over the same days.

Thames Valley Police said that a 24-year-old Newbury woman was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place in the early hours of Wednesday morning in connection with Wednesday’s incident.

She has been released on bail and the investigation is ongoing.
