Padworth hit by power cuts today

Engineers from Southern Electric Power Distribution were alerted to a problem at 11:45 this morning which had left 126 customers without power, attributing it to a fault on a high voltage network in the area.
A spokeswoman for the firm, Hannah Gleave, confirmed at 3:30pm that power had been restored to 95 of those affected, and the remaining 31, in School Road and Silver Lane, should be restored by early evening.
“Our engineers have been on site since 12:30pm,” she said. “They are trying to restore those customers as soon as possible.
“We would like to apologise to our customers who experienced a fault and thank them for their patience while we carry out the repairs.”
