Pamper day draws in £350 for Rodney Lawrence Trust

Guests paid £5 to enter and could treat themselves to mini manicures, facials and vintage hair demonstrations at the event on Wednesday.
A raffle drew in further funds and several collection buckets were on hand, and donations are still coming in.
The total amount raised will be match funded by Marks and Spencer Newbury, which nominated the Rodney Lawrence Trust as its charity of the year, and will be donated to the trust in March.
Salon manager Kim Piper said: “It went very well and we had a steady stream of visitors throughout the day including Marie, Rodney’s mum, and Jo from The Rodney Lawrence Trust.
“We had some really good feedback, particularly regarding the trust.
“A lot of our visitors hadn’t heard of it and were both interested and pleased to find out it was a local charity.”
The Rodney Lawrence Trust was formed in May 2013 by Marie and John Lawrence in memory of their son, Rodney, who drowned in a garden pond three years ago.
It supports young people to achieve their goals, source play equipment and help children and families faced with life threatening conditions.
