Pandora and Cards Direct are the latest stores to open in Parkway Shopping in Newbury

Newbury’s Parkway Shopping is celebrating the arrival of two new stores.

Cards Direct opened its doors for the first time at the weekend in the unit previously occupied by Paperchase on Middle Street.

It is the company’s 50th store to open in the UK.

And Pandora is set to return by the end of the month too – in the former Ecco Shoes unit on East Street.

The jewellery store moved out of Newbury in the summer of 2020 but is making a welcome return.

The store, which was also previously based in East Street, had closed in March of that year due to the coronavirus crisis, but reopened on June 16.

It was then earmarked for closure and finally shut at the end of the summer.

A shopfit of the new store began on Tuesday and it is hoped that the shop will reopen in mid-late May.

Parkway manager Andy Marmot said the two new stores were “good news” for the shopping centre.
