Classic car show at Pangbourne College to feature Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flypast this June
A classic car show is returning to Pangbourne this summer and it will feature a special flypast from a Second World War plane.
The Pangbourne College classic car show will take place on Saturday, June 4 on the college grounds and it will feature a wide array of vintage vehicles.
The classic car display will contain automobiles, scooters and motorbikes, as well as a unique display that celebrates the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The event’s organiser Tom Cheney said: “After a two year gap, we’re delighted to bring this event back to the community. We’re expecting in excess of 250 cars to be on display and the Pangbourne Village Silver Band will be playing music in the afternoon.”
Mr Cheney also described his excitement when announcing the car show’s special finale, which will feature a flypast by a Lancaster Bomber from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at 3.45pm.
All the money raised at this year’s show will go to two charities. One is a local charity called the Footsteps Foundation, which supports children with neurological issues, and the other is The Nabugabo Learning Community, a small, rural school in Uganda that Pangbourne College has links with.
Mr Cheney added: “We have been very lucky over the past four years to have been backed by local businesses such as H. R. Owen dealership, who are based in Pangbourne Village and have always brought a great selection of new Aston Martins, Bentleys and Lamborghinis for spectators to look at and sit inside.
“We have also been supported by Kingdom Coffee which provides refreshments and cream teas throughout the day, with all profits donated to the charities.”
Car parking spaces for the event will cost £10 and can be bought on this website https://bit.ly/3O0R8Yn
The event will run from 10am to 3.45pm on Saturday, June 4.
