Pangbourne helps Ukrainian refugees stay warm this Christmas
Pangbourne Rotary Club has contributed £5,080 in Ukrainian relief aid this year.
Pangbourne Rotary Club and Reading Rotary Club have obtained grants from The Rotary Foundation Disaster Response Grant to support the Reading Refugee Support Group and to buy vouchers for winter clothes for Ukrainian refugees.
Both clubs have successfully raised a combined donation of £4,371.
A further matched donation from the club's funds to support the RRSG meant that Pangbourne had contributed £5,080 pounds to the Ukrainian cause this year.
Pangbourne Rotary Club president, Saerah Hopley, said that Pangbourne had been among the first to respond to the Ukrainian crisis by transferring £2,280 to a Rotary Club in Warsaw for use at the Ukraine-Poland border.
CEO of the Reading Refugee Support Group, Nick Harborne, gratefully accepted the joint donation.
