Pangs of emotion

Artist Dominic Madden, a graduate of St Martin’s School of Art, will be present at the second and final weekend of his exhibition Hidden Stream at the Fergus Madden Gallery, opposite The Old Boot pub in Stanford Dingley. The majority of works are the artist’s emotional response to particular secret nooks along the local River Pang, and while the light plays islamic-style patterns on the water and through the trees, there is more depth hidden in the shade, with paper-cut stories bringing a broader narrative to the paint, ink and collaged layers. Search and you might come across the royals Kate and Wills, or in other places more challenging issues. Go visit this weekend and talk to Dominic, who takes his sketches and photographs back to his Tottenham studio to work up into final pieces – I promise you a fascinating hour or so.
