Paralympic medallist starts West Berkshire school's Olympic challenge





Pupils and staff will be running, cycling and rowing 2012 kilometres before the start of the London Olympic Games in June to raise money for charity ParalympicsGB.
Flag bearer for the Great Britain team at the Beijing 2008 Olympics, Danny Crates (pictured left in front row) visited the Andover Road school recently to cycle the first kilometre in the challenge.
The 39-year-old also helped out a team of ten pupils taking part in the BBC’s Schools Report 2012.
One of the pupils, Heather Barr said: “This was a really exciting opportunity as we were able to experience what it is like to be in a news reporting situation. We interviewed Danny Crates, which was the highlight of the event.”
