Parish council chairman celebrates 40-years at the helm

Keith Gilbert, who has held the position since 1972, was presented with a two pint pewter mug bearing the inscription “congratulations on 40 years” as well as some chocolate biscuits.
Fellow parish member and organiser of the surprise presentation, Mike Warner said: “Keith is addicted to chocolate biscuits and is always eating them in meetings.
“Someone who has done 40 years deserves a pat on the back. It was a complete surprise and he was very pleased to receive it.”
The meeting, held on November 12, was attended by seven parish councillors, two district councillors, the council clerk and two members of the public.
