Newbury's Park House School donates dozens of boxes of food to the West Berks Foodbank
Students at a Newbury school helped to make sure everyone in the community could enjoy Christmas, with a large donation to the local foodbank in the run up to the festive period.
Park House School, on Andover Road, collected 26 boxes full of donations which students handed over to West Berks Foodbank in time for the supplies to be added to Christmas parcels for those in need.
Tins of beans and soup, packets of rice and pasta, as well as Pot Noodles and tea bags were among the piles of food collected by the school community.
Head girl Rebecca Sheldon, who helped organise the collection, said: “Park House School supports the foodbank every year, and this year was no different.
“It was incredible to see the donation pile increase every day over a few weeks and to hear that we collected 26 boxes of donations overall.
“It is amazing to see the difference that a community can make with a little bit of organisation and a lot of kind individuals.
“We hope to have made a difference to people's lives this Christmas, and we will continue to support the foodbank for years to come.”
