Park House pupils nominated for national awards

Madelaine Gilboy and Ben Skuse have been selected to represent Park House School in the chemistry and physics categories of the 2012 Awards.
Madelaine’s essay entitled ‘Chemical conundrums – making life better on a global scale; how can chemistry contribute to human well-being?’ has been chosen to go through to the next stage, where it will be read by Dr Chris Smith, presenter of BBC science radio programme The Naked Scientists.
Ben’s essay called ‘Blue sky research’: are projects like CERN good value?’ has also been chosen to go through to the next stage, where it will be read by Dr Lucie Green, scientist and astronomer.
Headteacher of Park House, Derek Peaple said: "This is a prestigious new educational awards scheme and we're thrilled that Park House will be represented. We're keeping our fingers crossed that Maddie and Ben will reach the shortlist next month, but nevertheless this is already a brilliant achievement from entries received from academies all over the country."
