Park House School to host run for local charities




RUNNING novices, enthusiasts and professionals are being urged to tie up their trainers and take to the track at Park House School to support local causes.

The event, on Sunday, May 18, will kickstart with a 2km children’s race at 10.30am, followed by 5km and 10km adult races at 11am.

Race entry costs between £3.30 and £11.25 with all funds to be donated to Cancer Research UK and children’s cancer charity Clic Sargent.

Prizes will be awarded to the quickest male and female runners in each race, while every entrant will receive a goodie bag.

Meanwhile, families and spectators can keep themselves entertained with a bouncy castle, barbecue and live bands also on offer.

Runners can choose to raise further funds on the day for either the West Berkshire Rapid Response Car charity, Dingley Family specialist and early years centre, Wash Common Scouts, The Castle School or Clic Sargent - funds to whcih will directly benefit a local family.

Registration for the 2k run will begin at 9.30am and 10am for the adult races.

Parking will be available at Newbury Rugby Club, Monks Lane.
