Parkway centre manager appointed
Neil Carter will be responsible for all aspects of centre operations and performance at the Newbury development
PARKWAY'S developers, Standard Life Investments, have this week announced the appointment of a centre manager for the Newbury project.
Neil Carter has been appointed centre manager at the 475,000 sq ft mixed-use retail and residential scheme, which is due to open in October.
Mr Carter, who brings more than 17 years of retail experience to the role, has spent four years as general manager at the County Mall Shopping Centre in Crawley, while he has also previously held retail management positions at both Debenhams and Marks and Spencer.
At Parkway, he will be the primary point of contact for retailers, shoppers and the local community and he will be responsible for all aspects of centre operations and performance.
Commenting on his new role, Mr Carter said: “This is a fantastic opportunity and I am very proud to have been appointed to work on such an exciting new development.
“It will be a privilege to be involved in one of only three centres opening this year. I am eagerly anticipating the challenge ahead and working closely with the Newbury community.”
Parkway, which will house such stores as Debenhams, H&M, New Look, Topshop, Lakeland, Fat Face, Paperchase, Jones Bootmaker and Costa, will comprise 295,000 sq ft of shops, a 621 space car park and 147 new apartments.
