Parkway opening date announced

The mixed-use retail and residential project will open on Thursday, October 27

AN OPENING date has now been revealed for Newbury's new shopping centre development.

Parkway developers Standard Life Investments have this week announced an opening date of Thursday, October 27 for the 475,000 sq ft mixed-use retail and residential project, which will include more than 300,000 sq ft of shops and restaurants, 147 new apartments and a 550-space car park.

The announcement follows confirmation that three new retailers – Superdry, Fraser Hart and Johnsons of Windsor - have signed up to the development, bringing the scheme to more than 75 per cent let by area.

The three retailers, all of whom are new to the Newbury area, have joined anchor tenants Debenhams and other confirmed stores such as John Lewis at home, H&M, New Look, Topshop, Lakeland, Paperchase, Fat Face, Jones Bootmaker, Barclays and Costa.
