Parkway: the opening information you need to know
Newburytoday.co.uk brings you a guide to the events happening at Parkway over the opening weekend
PARKWAY finally opens its doors this morning (Thursday) and several activities are being planned to mark the occasion.
The festivities kick off with a fanfare procession through the town at 10.30am, which will be led by Jack of Newbury.
The shops will open at 11am and there will be music and entertainment continuing throughout today (Thursday), tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, the Hallowe'en Hullabaloo event takes place in the town centre, with a parade starting from Parkway and continuing through to the Market Place, where several activities will continue.

Thursday, October 27:
10.30am - A fanfare procession through the town will begin in the Market Place, with Jack of Newbury leading the Parkway parade, which will also feature local school children, street entertainers and music.
10.50am - At Middle Street, Jack of Newbury will unveil his new outfit, designed by Speenhamland Primary School pupil Mia Eldridge.
11am - Shops open, while entertainment continues throughout the day with live music and dance performances, street magicians, mime artists and the eccentric shopper, Lady Margo.
12.45pm - Watership Brass take to the main stage.
5pm - Sing for Fun perform on the stage
8pm - Shops close
Friday, October 28:
9am - Shops open
Between 11am and 5.30pm - Dan the Hat will entertain the crowds with his yo-yo routines, hat trickery.
Two giant, four-legged, lime green horned bugs will also scuttle and creep their way around the centre during the day.
6pm - Shops close
Saturday, October 29:
9am - Shops open
Between 11am and 5.30pm - Lady Lust-a-Lot and Lady Longing-for-Love - two medieval princesses - will ride around Parkway on their dragons Eric and Ernie, searching for their handsome knight. The living statue, The Golden Doorman, will also be at the shopping centre, along with the Giant English Bobbies.
6pm - Shops close
Sunday, October 30:
10.30am - Shops open
Throughout the day - Red she-devils Satanya and Bella Ze Bub will cause havoc with their forked prongs and devilish diabolos, while the Balloonatic Witches will cast spells with their balloon trickery and caricatures.
3pm - Fancy dress parade registration at Parkway.
4pm - Fancy dress parade from Parkway, along Northbrook Street to the Market Place.
4.30pm - Live music from Bib Fortuna, along with various other activities, including face painting, colouring, archery and roaming performers.
4.45pm - First of five Spooky Storytellings at the town hall.
4.45pm - Potted Panto performance (free tickets must be booked in advance via Corn Exchange on 01635 522733)
6.15pm - Winners of fancy dress competition and carved pumpkin competition are announced.

8pm - Firework finale
