Passers-by feared plastered man was dead
Passers-by saw 29-year-old Kieron Stuart Rosier slumped, unconscious, at Hamilton Court, Newbury, and feared the worst, the court was told.
Helen Waite, prosecuting, said Mr Rosier was, in fact just “absolutely plastered.”
She told the court on Thursday, October 24: “The incident involved two police officers, two paramedics and concerned members of the public.
“The defendant was found collapsed on a footpath. He was in a pretty sorry state and couldn’t talk or stand up.”
Mr Rosier, of Fullers Court, Park Way, admitted being drunk in public on September 20 this year.
His previous convictions include dishonesty and public order offences.
Representing himself, Mr Rosier said he had been struggling with alcohol issues and admitted he had been on “a mad bender.”
He added: “I’ve come a long way with my problems but still need a bit of help.”
Magistrates made Mr Rosier subject to a six month conditional discharge and ordered him to pay a £15 victim surcharge.
