Patients warned of delays after work starts on Turnpike

Patients have been advised to allow extra time to reach appointments, as the only entrance and exit is currently via the A4, and westbound bus services to Newbury are not able to drop off at the hospital.
A signed diversion route is in place while work is underway to widen the Rookes Way junction into the hospital site.
The work is scheduled to run until February 8 .
West Berkshire Council is providing a shuttle bus service to the hospital, which will connect with Jet Black services towards Newbury on bus services Jetblack 1 and on Newbury and District routes 100, 101, 102, 104 and 105 during this period.
Marketing and communications manager at Reading Buses, Jake Osman, said: “We apologise to our customers travelling to and from West Berkshire Community Hospital and are grateful to West Berkshire Council for providing a shuttle bus service to maintain access to the hospital.”
Mr Osman added that eastbound bus services to Thatcham and Reading were unaffected.
The last shuttle bus will leave the hospital at 7.43pm Monday to Saturday and 7.15pm on Sundays. Customer information notices will be on display in buses on all affected routes and stops.
