Peasemore Festival run returns next week
Hundreds of runners are expected to take part in the Peasemore five-mile run next Sunday (September 11)
THE annual Peasemore Festival five-mile run returns to the village next week with hundreds of runners expected to take part.
The race, which forms part of the Peasemore Festival, is now in its fifth year and starts next Sunday (September 11) at 10.30am from the village cricket pitch.
Following the run there will be a barbecue with an extensive selection of beers and wines on the cricket pitch together with live folk and blues music.
More than 200 runners are expected to take part in race, which is suitable for runners of all abilities aged 15 or over.
Proceeds will go towards the Newbury and District MS Society and Peasemore village funds with spot prizes for various runners.
Last year the race organisers donated £1,900 to Swings and Smiles charity, whose aim is to build a recreational facility in West Berkshire for children with special needs.
