And on Sunday (September 21), the local cycling club supported him with a special ride.

Since his diagnosis, Mr Shaughnessy has raised more than £600,000, by taking on a series of sporting feats each year.

This September he’s tackling 30 different sports in just one month, with day 21 being a cycle with Newbury Road Club.

A number of members from the club came out to support Mr Shaughnessy and get behind the Parkinson’s community.

The group met at 9am in Newbury’s Market Place and riders enjoyed a cafe stop halfway through the route, before returnined to Newbury for a social meet up in the town centre.
