Reading Magistrates' Court: Inkpen pensioner denies assault

A PENSIONER is facing a charge of assaulting a woman.
In the dock at Reasing Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, August 10, was James Lipscombe.
The 70-year-old, of The Haven, Inkpen, is accused of assaulting Sonia Johnson by beating her in Kintbury on Thursday, April 14.
Mr Lipscombe, who was legally represented at the brief hearing, spoke only to confirm his details and to plead not guilty to the songle charge.
He was told the case could proceed no further that day and the case was adjourned for a trial to be arranged.
Mr Lipscombe was meanwhile granted unconditional bail.
