Permanent repair to large pothole on B4494 between Leckhampstead and Peasemore expected mid-March says West Berkshire Council
A large pothole on the B4494 will be permanently repaired by mid-March, the council has said.
It is at the crossroads between Leckhampstead and Peasemore.
The road was closed as an emergency and temporary repairs were carried out.
The road has since reopened.
But the permanent repair isn’t expected to be completed until mid-March.
A West Berkshire Council spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a large pothole that had developed on the B4494 last Thursday.
“The pothole was in a section of carriageway that was underwater due to flooding and so the road was subject to an emergency closure to allow us to try to get some of the water away to make repairs.

“The flooding is still ongoing to an extent, caused by high groundwater levels.
“We have currently repaired the pothole temporarily to allow the road to re-open.
“It is expected the permanent repair to be completed by mid-March.”
