Car and lorry involved in A339 collision near Vodafone HQ

FIREFIGHTERS cut someone free from a vehicle following a Newbury collision on the A339 just north of the Vodafone HQ yesterday evening (Thurs).

Two pumps from Newbury Fire Station were called at 4.57pm to an A339 northbound collision, at Donnington, involving a lorry and a car.

Firefighters cut one person free from a vehicle before leaving the scene at 5.44pm.

South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) were called at 4.51pm and sent a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance to the scene.

There were no injuries, however one driver was trapped by his seatbelt, before being cut free by firefighters.

The incident caused traffic congestion in the area, with one lane remaining closed afterwards during vehicle recovery.
