Charlie Pennington from Hungerford denies stalking offence

A PERSON is to go on trial accused of stalking a woman.

Charlie Pennington appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, March 6.

The 20-year-old, of Chilton Way, Hungerford, is accused of pursuing a course of conduct which amounted to the stalking of Amanda Repton.

Specifically, Pennington is said to have contacted her via Snapchat and Instagram, attended her workplace and home uninvited and loitered near The Hatchet pub in Newbury town centre when she was in attendance, repeatedly looking over at her, in Newbury between July 9 and August 15 last year.

Pennington spoke only to confirm personal details and to plead not guilty to the single charge.

They were told the case could proceed no further that day and that it would be adjourned for a trial to be arranged.

Pennington was meanwhile released on bail with conditions.
