British Transport Police confirm one death after incident near Pangbourne Railway Station

A person has died after being found on the railway line near Pangbourne.

British Transport Police (BTP) was called to the incident near Pangbourne Railway Station yesterday evening (Tuesday).

Paramedics pronounced one person dead at the scene, but police said the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A BTP spokesperson said officers had been called to reports of someone on the tracks just before 5.30pm.

“Officers were called to the line near Pangbourne Station at 5.26pm on May 16 to reports of a casualty on the tracks,” the spokesperson added.

“Paramedics also attended, and sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
