Person given emergency care in home fire in Cleremont Crescent, Newbury




A fire broke out at a home in Newbury at the weekend.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to Claremont Crescent at 6.34pm on Sunday, June 11.

Crews from Newbury and Theale fire stations were sent to the scene alongside an officer.

Upon arrival, crews discovered a fire in a garage of the residential property.

Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus entered the property and recovered a small helium cylinder before using two hose reels to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters also provided immediate emergency care to one person at the scene before placing them in the care of South Central Ambulance Service.

Crews were on the scene for approximately two hours and 15 minutes.
