Person taken to hospital following multi-vehicle crash on A339 in Newbury
One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries following a three vehicle crash on the A339 this afternoon.
The roof and doors had to be cut off of one vehicle as the emergency services were called.
The incident took place at around 1.15pm on the southbound carriageway between the Robin Hood roundabout and the Sainsbury's roundabout, just before the bridge over the Kennet and Avon Canal.
Both lanes of the carriageway have now reopened after a delay while police swept the debris off the left lane and waited for the vehicles involved to be removed.
Traffic remains clogged up on the north side of town on the roads leading to the Robin Hood roundabout.
