Thatcham Photographic Club shows off top snaps at town’s annual festival and we turn the camera on them
Thatcham Photographic Club held an exhibition of its work as part of the town’s annual festival, which concluded at the weekend.
Hosted at the Old Bluecoat School on Saturday, the exhibition displayed more than 200 pieces of work from the club’s members, all of various backgrounds and skill sets.
Speaking at the event, chairman Ray Buckland, a retired IT consultant, said: “We’re very proud to support Thatcham Festival with our exhibition and our presence on the Broadway.
“We’ve got 202 photos from over 70 per cent of our membership, so everyone’s very enthusiastic about joining in and displaying their work.
“We use it as part of an outreach to the community to say here we are, this is what we do, and if you’d like to improve your photography, then we’ll be more than happy to welcome you at our meetings and the courses we run to get those pictures that you’re looking for.
“We’ve love for you to come down and see us next year.”
Members mounted their photos in new cardboard frames for visitors to view.
The community club is based in Thatcham and is open to anyone with an interest in photography.
It invites members to submit photos for monthly project themes.
The submitted photos are then shown anonymously online where members vote for the photos they like.
