A driver was cut free from his vehicle after crashing at Aldermaston Race Course on Sunday
THESE pictures show the moment a race car driver was cut free from his vehicle after crashing during an event at Aldermaston Race Course on Sunday.
Fire crews from Dee Road fire station and Tadley attended the scene in Paices Hill at 2.50pm after reports that the driver, Christopher Muspratt, was trapped inside the vehicle.
Firefighters cut the roof off the banger to free the driver.
No other cars were involved in the incident.
Speaking on Monday, race track owner Gwen Owen praised the speed of the emergency services.
“We had people here who could have helped but fire and ambulance were really quick and they did a really good job,” she said. “The rescue looked a bit more dramatic than it actually was, it turns out he wasn't as badly injured as first thought.”
The man was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
