Pippa Middleton's book proves a real scoop for Mencap
Miss Middleton signed copies of her book, Celebrate: A Year of Festivities for Families and Friends, at L Interiors in her home village of Chapel Row, Bucklebury.
And Miss Middleton, whose book is published by Penguin, asked for all proceeds from the event to go to West Berkshire Mencap.
L Interiors owner, Lynda Tillotson, who is organising Mencap’s race day at The Racecourse Newbury next year, said: “It was a hugely successful and exclusive event.
“We invited a selection of people who have supported the shop over the last few years.
“We ran out of books within half an hour so we’ve had to back order some more books.”
Chief executive officer of West Berkshire Mencap Leila Ferguson added: “It was a great scoop for us.
“Pippa is a very, very sweet lady.
“She didn’t stop signing books until she actually ran out, but she took details from those who didn’t get a book so they could be sent one.
“We really appreciate Pippa’s support.
“It’s lovely to see her supporting a local charity such as West Berkshire Mencap.”
