West Berkshire Council planners allow Hungerford home extension
PLANNERS have allowed a home extension to which Hungerford Town Council had objected.
The application was for a single-storey extension to the front of 22 Aldbourne Close in the town.
The town council's environment and planning committee had lodged a formal objection on the grounds that there was "insufficient parking for the size of the property".
The committee added: "We would be interested to see the planning permission and building regulations for the conversion of the garage."
A planning officer's report addressed that issue, stating: "When the estate development was granted planning permission, a condition was attached stating that the vehicle parking space shall be kept available for parking at all times.
"This is likely to have included the garage space.
"Therefore, any conversion of the garage would have required planning permission."
It added: "The proposals do not change the number of bedrooms within the property, and do not therefore change the car parking requirement."
