Plans for 15-metre high 5G telecommunications pole in Woolton Hill submitted to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council

Plans for a 15-metre high 5G telecommunications pole to be placed within Woolton Hill have been submitted to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

The pole would be located on the corner of Woolton Hill Road opposite Broadlayings.

Cignal Infrastructure UK Ltd submitted the plans for the pole and its associated ancillary works on March 30.

A Cignal Infrastructure UK Ltd spokesperson said: “The location has been identified as being necessary for Cignal Infrastructure UK Ltd business development and meets its specific technical and operational requirements.”

The telecom services company submitted the plans after two previous applications were refused, the reasons being that the initial 18-metre pole was considered too high and the development “would be to the detriment of the visual amenity of the area” at its proposed location on the corner of Tile Barn Row and Woolton Hill Road.

The planning application can be viewed on Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council’s website by searching reference 23/00831/TENO in the planning portal.
