Plans to build a new mixed use commercial and residential property behind Tesco Express in Baughurst refused
Plans to build a new mixed use commercial and residential property behind Tesco Express in Heath End Road in Baughurst have been refused.
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council rejected a proposal to construct a two-storey building that contained a commercial unit on the ground floor and a split-level one-bedroom apartment on the rear part of the ground floor and the whole first floor.
Planners rejected it because “insufficient information” had been submitted as part of the application indicating the nature of the business associated with the commercial unit.
The proposal was also turned down because the application site is situated within the Detailed Emergency Planning Zone surrounding the Aldermaston AWE, and if the property was built, it would “have a detrimental impact on the Aldermaston off-site emergency planning arrangements”.
