Plans to expand gyspy caravan site in Beenham refused by West Berkshire Council

Plans to expand a gyspy caravan site in Beenham from one to four pitches have been refused by West Berkshire Council.

But the caravans are already on the site at Mayfair, Bath Road.

The plans also included the demolition of stables at the site which sits on top of a Government gas pipeline.

Exolum, which operates the pipeline, objected to the scheme as it restricted access to the pipeline.

The council rejected the plans as it considered extra traffic would go and from the site, which is next to the A4 and Aldermaston railway station, and towing vehicles would have to stop on the road to access the site.
