Play area smoking ban across Basingstoke and Deane mooted

Consultation until mid-June on making the areas smoke-free

Should children’s play areas in parks borough-wide be smoke-free?

That’s the question asked in a consultation by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council on the issue, seeking views on whether there should be a voluntary ban on people smoking within 10 metres of children’s play areas across the borough.

The consultation, which runs until Sunday June 14, can be found at www.basingstoke.gov.uk/ smokefree.
