‘Please take your litter home’ says Nature Discovery Centre in Thatcham
The Nature Discovery Centre in Thatcham is requesting that people who use their facility leave it clean.
This comes after its outdoor undercover area was left in a mess.
Packaging from food and drink items, mostly alcoholic beverages, was left on benches and the floor.
Furniture - benches and tables- were also moved and not put back in their correct places.
This morning the discovery centre shared an image to its social media pages of the mess left behind after people used the area for social purposes.
The centre says it does not mind people using this space but requested that they tidy up after themselves.
It said: “We really don't mind you using our undercover area for socialising in the evenings but please could you take your litter home with you and move the furniture back where you found it?
“Thanks, the NDC team.”
The centre, which is run by Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust (BBOWT) is participating in the ‘30 Days Wild’ initiative which encourages people to connect with nature every day in June.
Yesterday it urged visitors to pick up their litter as a part of this initiative.
It said: “One of our less glamorous jobs around the NDC is picking up litter.
“One way to help nature during #30DaysWild is to put litter in the bin or take it home with you.”
